The faces behind Country Walk Kennels

Hi! We’re the Yandows!

My husband and I have always dreamed of moving out to the country to have plenty of land for our children to play in and to enjoy a slower pace of life. In 2017 our dream came true when we purchased our 7 acre home in Cedartown, GA! Winding through our property is a trail where we love to spend time out in nature going on walks. We have had a few farm animals here like pigs and goats and now enjoy our chickens, cat, dogs and soon- puppies!

The main face behind CWK is me, Alyssa, the mama of the Yandow family. I have worn many hats in my life. Follower of Christ, wife, mother, homeschool mom, doula, novice homesteader, and crafter are among my favorites and the most important things in my life. Being a dog breeder isn’t one that I initially thought I would add to the list! But it totally fits!

I have always loved animals. And anything you find on a farm have always been my favorites. Horses, cows, chickens, pigs, goats, cats, and especially dogs. Dogs have always fascinated me, excited me, and made our family feel complete. Five of the ten dogs I have had in my life have been shelter pets and I was always proud that I did what I could to save the lives of the poor abandoned dogs there and bring them to a happier place.

But there were always more there waiting. More than I could possibly bring into my home and you really never knew what you were going to get when you brought home a shelter pet. Shelters are fighting an uphill battle and doing the best they can. They are inundated with strays, surrendered pets, people who keep their animals unaltered, allowed to roam free, and then dump the puppies that invariably are the result of those decisions. Its a very sad situation.

But what if there was a way to keep many dogs from ever ending up in shelters. What if people looking to get a dog did not shop at pet stores and backyard breeders looking for the cheapest option but instead found:

A professional who committed to be there for the life of every puppy they produced.

A professional breeder who worked hard to ensure that their parent dogs received the very best care and were passing on the best genetics through health and temperament testing.

A professional breeder who worked with each puppy every day- guiding them through critical fear periods, and empowering them to be the best that they can be.

A professional breeder who prioritized temperament so families can have less reservations about the lifelong commitment they are making with their puppy.

That is the kind of breeder I am.

I am proud to be a part of the Empowered Badass Breeder movement.

A movement that is changing breeders from bad to badass.

A movement that is healing hearts and changing lives through the power of a dog.

Come, and see what we do different.
